Google Gemini Time Tracking Integration

Google Gemini time tracking lets you ask Gemini for project hours, run a WebWork report and approve a timesheet in the conversation. Gemini Enterprise already answers from your documents, tickets and CRM records, and connecting WebWork adds the hours behind that work. A question about an account then comes back with its records and its hours in one reply.

What You Can Run from a Google Gemini Conversation

Time tracking with Gemini runs through WebWork's MCP connector, which your agent calls the same way it calls any other data store an administrator has registered. It reads hours, projects, tasks, timesheets and reports, and it acts on them. These can be starting a timer, creating a time entry, or approving a timesheet within whatever the signed-in user is already permitted to do in WebWork.

Pull Time and Activity Reports Without Opening the Dashboard

WebWork returns time, activity and attendance reports to Gemini on request. Ask for hours by project, by member or by date range, and the connector reads the same reports the WebWork dashboard shows, including activity scores and app and website usage.

Ask One Question That Covers Hours and Records Together

Gemini Enterprise reads your documents, tickets and CRM records through the connectors your administrator has registered, and WebWork is among them. You can ask a question about one account, like its contract terms, its open tickets, and the hours logged on it this quarter and get all that information in a single message.

Start Timers and Clear Approvals in the Same Conversation

Teams track time with Gemini by asking it to start or stop a timer on a project or task, create a time entry, or submit a timesheet. They approve or reject timesheets, time requests and leave requests the same way, and WebWork records each decision straight away.

What the Google Gemini Time Tracking Integration Covers

Gemini can only do what your WebWork role already allows, and it checks with you before deleting or archiving anything.

Who Can Set It Up

Who Enables the Gemini MCP Connector in WebWork

On WebWork, a workspace Owner or Executive Manager with a verified email creates the credentials. They generate a Client ID and App Secret in Settings > REST API > OAuth2 Apps, with no support request needed. There is no automatic client registration, so the credentials are pasted into Gemini rather than exchanged in the background.

Who Registers the Server in Gemini Enterprise

A Gemini Enterprise administrator registers WebWork as a custom data store on the Google side. Gemini then works under the role of the WebWork user who signed in and sees nothing above it. If that user cannot open a report or approve a timesheet in WebWork, the same request returns a permission error in Gemini.

How to Connect Gemini to Your Time Tracker

The Gemini time tracking integration runs on Gemini Enterprise, and setup takes an administrator on each side.

  1. In WebWork, go to Settings > REST API > OAuth2 Apps > Create App. Enter an App Name, set the Redirect URI to

    https://vertexaisearch.cloud.google.com/oauth-redirect

and copy the Client ID and App Secret.

  2. In Gemini Enterprise, an administrator with the Discovery Engine Editor role creates a custom MCP server data store and enters

    https://mcp.webwork-tracker.com/mcp

as the MCP Server URL. The connector runs on StreamableHTTP; SSE is not supported.

  3. Choose OAuth 2.0, paste in the Client ID and Client Secret, add the Authorization URL and Token URL, and enter the Scopes separated by spaces: read write admin. Sign in as a workspace Owner or Executive Manager when Gemini asks for access.

From Separate Lookups to One Answer in Google Gemini

Gemini can only tell you about the systems it's connected to. Connect WebWork, and it can tell you about your team's hours as well.

You can ask about an account and its hours in the same question. Gemini comes back with the contract, the open tickets and the hours logged on it, all in one reply.

You can get any WebWork report just by asking for it. Gemini reads your time, activity, attendance and billable breakdowns, and narrows them by project, member or date range.

Approvals happen in the same conversation. Tell Gemini to approve a timesheet, a time request or a leave request, and it goes through in WebWork right away.

FAQ

WebWork runs an MCP server, and a Gemini Enterprise administrator connects it to your workspace. After that, you can ask Gemini for a project report, a member's timesheet or last month's totals, and tell it to start a timer or approve a timesheet. Your team keeps tracking time in the WebWork apps exactly as they do now but Gemini is where you ask about the hours and act on them.

The connector works with Gemini Enterprise, where an administrator registers https://mcp.webwork-tracker.com/mcp as a custom MCP server data store.

On the WebWork side, a workspace Owner or Executive Manager with a verified email creates the Client ID and App Secret in Settings > REST API > OAuth2 Apps. On the Google side, only a Gemini Enterprise administrator can register it for the organisation.

Once the Gemini time tracking integration is enabled, Gemini only sees the data that the WebWork user’s role allows. It never exceeds the role of the user who signed in, and a request for something that role cannot reach returns a permission error. WebWork stores no separate copy of your workspace data, and disconnecting revokes access.
