Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need to monitor my employees?
Monitoring your employees’ work with WebWork Time Tracker is the best management tool you could ask for!
As an employer, you have the right to know which task or project your employee is working on, how efficiently he/she is using work time, how much time he/she spends on each project, etc… And if you have remote workers, it is in their best interest to be able to show their clients how much time the job really took.
How is this different from other Time Tracking software?
Is there a payroll system?
Not yet, but we are working on our payroll feature and it will be released soon. Stay tuned!
Is it ethical to monitor your employee’s screen?
We believe that your client or employer has the right to know what you are doing during your work time, how much of time you spend on each project or task, how high is your work activity, etc…
We advise you to turn off the Tracker during your break times.
Also, you can turn off the screenshot option and only track time without capturing your screen.
Does WebWork Time Tracker know what I am typing?
No, the software only records the number of keystrokes and mouse clicks, but never what exactly you type and where you click. We do not collect or own such information whatsoever!
We do not collect or own that data and nobody has access to that kind of information.
Is there any limit on the number of projects I can add?
There is no limit on the number of projects you can add, nor on the number of users you can have in your team.
Where and how long do you store my screenshots, who can see them?
Your data is stored in Amazon S3 cloud. We keep all your screenshots for 5 months.
Your screenshots can only be viewed by you, the owner of the project and your manager.
No one else has access to your screenshots and reports.
Is WebWork Time Tracker good for freelancers and individuals?
Yes, it is the best solution for freelancers and individuals, because now you don’t have to prove how much you have worked on a project or task, or answer to such questions as: “why it took so long?”…
You can easily track your time and invite your employer as to show him/her your work activity, screenshots, memos and reports.
It also helps you to be more self-organized, efficient and productive.
Does WebWork automatically stop tracking time after several minutes of user inactivity?
Yes, WebWork Time Tracker automatically stops tracking time when your employees don't perform any activity for 10 minutes.
Does WebWork detect false clicks and keyboard strokes made randomly by users to keep the time?
Just like any other time tracking software in the market, WebWork does not detect if your employees have clicked and typed randomly for the sake of unnaturally keeping the time.
Yet, screenshots are of great help here. By taking 10-minute interval screenshots, WebWork allows you to actually see what progress your employees have performed during those intervals.
What does 'Cache is full' mean?
When your internet shuts down unexpectedly, WebWork Time Tracker continues to track time and take screenshots for 6-7 hours of time period, and stores that information in cache.
When the 6-7 hour time period passes, the "cache is full" appears on your screen indicating that there is no available space in the cache.
As soon as your internet is back again, the activity data gets synced back.
How to share my progress with clients?
In order for your clients to see your progress, you can assign those clients to your projects.
Clients, as a type of WebWork user, will have access only for the exact projects that have been assigned to them. Clients are not able to make any changes; they have the role of an observer, who can just view the screenshots, statistics, reports etc. Unlike other users, Clients are not listed as a member of the team; therefore you, as a team owner, can invite unlimited number of clients, despite Team’s membership.
As for unregistered clients, you can download your online reports in XLS, CSV or PDF and share those with them, by sending the files.
Does WebWork buffer the activity when there is no internet and sync it when internet is back?
Having an intermittent internet is no problem with WebWork Time Tracker!
WebWork Time Tracker continues to track time when there is no internet. The activity data is cached and synced back as soon as your internet is on again.
Can I see the list of web/application details my employees have used during time tracking?
WebWork Tracker records the applications and websites your employees use while tracking time and generates all the information in the Apps and Websites Report.
You can see the application's name and the actual time spent on each one of them by your employees while tracking working time.
