What Your AI Can and Cannot Access

The connector accesses, responds, and performs according to your member type permissions. A tool you are not permitted to use in your workspace returns a permission error rather than a result.

  • You grant read, write, and administrative access during sign-in, and your AI client lets you approve tools individually.
  • Deletions and archiving require an explicit confirmation before anything happens.
  • Some actions send real email like member and project-viewer invitations, leave approvals, and the assistant tells you before it sends them.
  • Disconnecting revokes access at any time, from your AI client.

How to Connect the WebWork MCP Server

You need a WebWork account with the Workspace Owner or Executive Manager role and a verified email address. From there, there are two ways to connect:

  1. The quickest way is to connect from your AI client’s connector directory, if WebWork appears in it.

  2. The other way is to add WebWork by URL in clients such as Claude or ChatGPT, using OAuth credentials you create in WebWork. The Quickstart includes the exact redirect URLs for each client.

WebWork AI

WebWork AI and the MCP server work on the same data but from opposite sides. WebWork AI runs inside the product: it analyzes employee performance, writes daily activity summaries, and flags overwork and irregular tracking patterns inside the platform.

MCP Server

The MCP server points the other way. Instead of WebWork’s AI analyzing your workspace, your own assistant operates it. It runs the report you asked for, approves the timesheet, and creates the task.
