Three Ways to Use PayPal in WebWork

WebWork's PayPal connection covers both sides of payments — paying your team and getting paid by clients — plus a batch export option for larger teams.

Pay Your Team via PayPal Payouts

Assign PayPal as the payment method for team members. Once timesheets or fixed salaries are approved, WebWork auto-generates invoices. Click Pay and the payment goes out via PayPal Payouts instantly — no exports, no switching apps. Requires a PayPal business account with Payouts enabled.

Get Paid by Clients via PayPal on Invoices

Enable PayPal as a payment option on invoices you send to clients. Clients see a PayPal pay button directly on the invoice and can pay immediately — alongside the card (Stripe) option. This works for receiving payments, not just sending them.

Export Payroll in PayPal-Native Format

For teams that prefer batch processing, WebWork exports payroll data in PayPal's native CSV format. Go to Finances > Payroll, select PayPal under Export Methods, download the file, and upload it directly to PayPal Batch Payments.

How to Set Up PayPal in WebWork

Connect your PayPal account once and manage payments for your entire team without leaving WebWork.

1

Go to Settings > Finances and connect with PayPal using your business account.

2

Assign PayPal as the payment method for each team member.

3

Approve timesheets or set fixed salaries — WebWork calculates earned amounts automatically.

4

Click Pay — the payment goes out via PayPal Payouts instantly.

5

Enable PayPal on client invoices — clients pay you via the PayPal button.

Payments go to the PayPal account matching each team member's WebWork email. If a member has no PayPal account, they will receive an invitation; if they don't complete setup, you will be automatically refunded. Standard PayPal fees apply — WebWork charges nothing extra.
