Submitting proposals and applications

To submit an article proposal or to apply to become a contributor, you can send an email to us at webworktimetracker@gmail.com.

To contribute to our blog on a regular basis, you must first become a contributor. Submit your writing portfolio to start this process.

If you want to write a guest article for us without becoming a contributor, you can propose your ideas. Send us a general overview of what your article will be about, the keywords you’d like to target, and the resources you’d like to include.

Submitting completed guest articles

If you’d like to submit an article you’ve already written, please make sure it follows our quality guidelines.

Writing guidelines

We have developed these guidelines to ensure our content is accessible to a wide audience across the globe. To follow them, your article must:

  • Be about time tracking, business, productivity, or a related topic
  • Not be published anywhere else
  • Be at least 1200-1500 words long
  • Be structured with headings, with each heading having a paragraph of less than 300 words 
  • Be easy to read with a Flesch Reading-Ease Score (FRES) of 65 or higher (reading grade level 9 or below)
  • Use varying language with lots of synonyms and do not stuff keywords
  • Maintain consistency in key aspects like addressing the reader
  • Include a meta description (max 155 characters), an introduction and concluding paragraphs

Additionally, you can add images throughout your article to improve its readability. Only use freely licensed images.

Linking guidelines

Please make sure that your work follows our linking guidelines as well. Your article must:

  • Not have links in the intro paragraph
  • Not have any links to our competitors,i.e. other time tracking apps
  • Include only contextually relevant links
  • Not have a high link density—try to have no more than 2 links per paragraph
  • Preferably not have any links with an Ahrefs website authority score of less than 50

Note that we cannot add any links to casino, CBD, gambling, and adult-oriented websites. Also, keep in mind that we can include 1 link to your website if you like.

Submission guidelines

We only accept guest posting submissions as Google Docs. All other file types will be ignored. When submitting your article, please make sure to also include focus keyword/s and alt texts for any included images.

Editing, exclusivity, and publishing rights

Please note that once you submit your article, we reserve the right to modify it at any time we see fit—before and after publishing—for a variety of reasons. These include but are not limited to bringing your work to our quality standards. That said, our editors will ensure as much of your writing style is maintained as possible, along with the key info of your article.

Additionally, after publishing on the WebWork Blog, your article must remain exclusive to our website. You must not publish it anywhere else.

By submitting your article to the WebWork Blog, you give us permission to publish it, along with all included content like text and images on our site. You also acknowledge that submitting a guest article proposal does not guarantee that your article will be published on our site. If we reject your proposal, we cannot guarantee that you’ll get a response from us.
