Kiosk Mode for the WebWork Mobile App
WebWork now brings Kiosk Mode to the mobile app, allowing any iOS or Android device to be turned into a shared clock-in station for teams in the field or on-site. Administrators can enable Kiosk Mode directly within the app, transforming it into a dedicated, shared-use interface that any team member can use to manage their time – without accessing personal account settings or other workspace data.
What’s Available in Mobile Kiosk Mode
Mobile Kiosk Mode includes the full set of features available in the standard WebWork Kiosk, adapted for shared mobile use:
- Time Tracking – Team members can clock in and out directly from the shared device, with time logged against their individual accounts.
- Project and Task Selection – Employees can choose the project and task they are working on at clock-in, keeping time entries accurate and organised.
- Breaks – Users can log break time within the same kiosk session, maintaining a complete record of their work day.
Location and Geofencing
Mobile Kiosk Mode supports geolocation monitoring and geofencing, giving administrators greater control over where and how time is tracked. A job site can be defined with a specific address and radius, and tracking can be restricted to activate only when the device is within that boundary. This ensures time entries are tied to the correct physical location and reduces the risk of inaccurate clock-ins from outside the job site.
Access and Authentication
Employees authenticate on the shared device using a personal PIN, keeping each individual’s time data secure while maintaining the simplicity of a shared station. NFC access is also supported, allowing employees to clock in with a tap using an NFC card or tag – a faster option for high-traffic environments where speed at the kiosk matters.
