Work Mode Detection

WebWork now automatically categorizes how your team spends their time by detecting distinct work modes — focus work, meeting time, shallow work, and more. Instead of just seeing total hours tracked, you can now understand the nature of the work being done throughout the day.

A new Work Mode Overview block is available on the Productivity Insights page, displaying a breakdown of time spent in each mode. This gives managers a clear picture of whether their team is getting enough uninterrupted focus time, spending too many hours in meetings, or frequently switching between shallow tasks that fragment their day.

Understanding work modes is key to improving team productivity. Research consistently shows that deep focus time is when the most valuable work happens, while excessive meetings and task-switching reduce output.
