Bill Rate and Pay Rate
WebWork now supports two separate rate types: bill rate and pay rate. The bill rate is what you charge your customers for the work performed, while the pay rate is what you pay your team members for their time. Having both rates available side by side gives you a clear picture of your project economics at a glance.
This separation makes it easy to track profitability per project, per team, or per individual member. You can set different bill and pay rates depending on the role, project, or contract, giving you the flexibility to manage a wide range of billing scenarios — from fixed-rate contracts to variable hourly arrangements.
Whether you are a freelancer managing client billing, an agency tracking margins across multiple accounts, or a company running internal cost analysis, the dual rate system provides the financial clarity you need to make smarter business decisions.
