Kiosk Mode for the WebWork Android App
Kiosk Mode is now available on the WebWork Android app, letting teams convert any Android phone or tablet into a shared time station for on-site and field work. From within the app, administrators can switch a device into a locked, shared-use mode, giving the whole team a single point to track their hours while personal account settings and other workspace data stay out of reach.
What’s Available in Android Kiosk Mode
Everything in the standard WebWork Kiosk carries over to Android, reworked for shared use on phones and tablets:
- Time Tracking – Each team member clocks in and out on the shared device, and every entry is recorded against their own account.
- Project and Task Selection – At clock-in, employees pick the project and task they are about to work on, so logged time stays properly categorised.
- Breaks – Break time can be started and stopped within the same session, giving a full picture of the working day.
Location and Geofencing
Administrators get location oversight through built-in geolocation monitoring and geofencing. Each job site can be set up with an address and a defined radius, and tracking will only run while the device sits inside that zone. This keeps every entry anchored to the right site and cuts down on clock-ins logged from the wrong place.
Access and Authentication
Sign-in on a shared Android device works through a personal PIN, so individual time data stays protected even on a device everyone uses. Teams that need to move quickly can also use NFC, tapping a card or tag to clock in – handy for busy sites where a queue at the station slows everyone down.
